CLASSES

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga:

Jaiprakash teach Primary Series, Intermediate Series and Advanced Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. It is the spiritual method of practice first introduced by Krishnamachari and further developed by P. Jois and BNS Iyengar of Mysore. This method is physically demanding and the practitioner uses ujjayi breathing with asanas and vinyasa flow to connect individual postures. The combination of ujjayi breathing with vinyasa flow creates heat in the body which leads to purification through increased circulation and sweating. Additionally, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga improves flexibility of the muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. Through a consistent practice, the student can improve overall health and vitality and reduce the risk of injury.

“Mysore Style” means that students practice at their own pace with an expert supervisor providing individual attention for adjustments. This type of consideration allows for the personal transformation of each student with their own rhythm. Small classes (under 15 students) allow each student to evolve according to their own personal development.

Hatha Yoga:

Let us guide you through a flowing Hatha Vinyasa sequence. Open the bodies energy channels and harmonise the parts in wholistic balance.
The guided classes will lay the foundation for the yoga asana practice. During these classes the basics components of Sukhashanti style asana will be explored. How to place the body, how to synchronise breathe and movement, where to take the drishti and which internal adjustments to make. How to flow with the breath and when to experience the stillness of the pose. The Sukhashanti sequences allow the practitioner to have complete confidence in themselves. Take advantage of Noah's 20 years of experience, he can identify difficulties before they arise, remove unseen obstacles and clarify any doubts regarding the details of this practice.

Pranayama:

The word Pranayama means Prana (life force) and Ayama (regulation or lengthening). Pranayama is the technique of regulating breath. Traditionally it was believed that Pranayama should be practiced by those who have many years experience of doing Asanas (physical postures). In recent years, research has shown that Pranayama can be practiced by anybody, and that it offers many health and spiritual benefits. Pranayama can treat stress related disorders, including anxiety, fear and depression. It increases the capacity of oxygen intake and can even reduce symptoms of asthma. Regular practice of Pranayama brings awareness to the breath, calms the mind, and provides mental clarity.

Meditation:

Meditation is the scientific methodology of awareness. Many meditative techniques require one to sit still in silence. For most, the mind chatter is so loud that sitting in silence is impossible. Before we can hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we need to let go of the tensions. Active meditation techniques with background music help to de-stress and let-go from the pressure of modern day living.
Learn sacred techniques over the course of a week. A combination of active, passive and guided meditation methods are utilized in the one-hour classes.
